ABOUT KRISTIEN FORNESS
I was grounded when I was fifteen. In need of a project I decided to plant a rose garden. Yes, I planted Mr. Lincoln in the heat, humidity, and sandy soils of a coastal South Carolina garden: twelve leafless roses graced the north side of my parents’ home. Two years later I was off to study Horticulture at Clemson University.
Throughout my four years at Clemson I worked part-time as a research assistant for the Department of Horticulture. I studied landscape design under Master Landscape Architect Mary Haque. During my junior year I was selected as the research intern for The Arboretum at Flagstaff. I returned to Clemson to spend my senior year maintaining the experimental perennial beds at The South Carolina Botanic Garden before graduating, Cum Laude, in May of 1999.
Since graduating from college I have been exposed to many facets of the landscape and nursery industry. I spent a year doing “grunt work” learning the “ins and outs” of large scale landscape construction and irrigation installation. I then moved on to be the Renovation Designer and Nursery Manager for Snell & Associates on Hilton Head Is., SC. From 2001 to 2005 I was the Yard Manager at Portland Nursery. Since 2005 I have been Principal designer of Fusion Landscape Design.View ProjectsCONTACT
