FUSION LANDSCAPE DESIGN
MISSION STATEMENT: TO PROVIDE ECOLOGICALLY SOUND LANDSCAPE DESIGNS WITHOUT SACRIFICING ATTENTION TO FORM, COLOR, AND TEXTURE.
Fusion Landscape Design & Consultation was created in the spring of 2003. The primary goal of Fusion is to blend together my knowledge of horticulture and landscape design with the client’s needs and desires. My design philosophy is based on the fusion of three primary elements: science, art, and nature.
Every property has a variety of soil, sun, shade, and moisture conditions. By paying close attention to microclimates, a landscape design can be created that is harmonious with its surrounding environment. Through my education and research experience I have gained a broad understanding of how plants function at the cellular level. This comprehension of plant science brings heightened meaning to the phrase “the right plant in the right place” in each of my designs.
One of the most profound statements I have come across regarding the basic elements of art in the landscape comes from Piet Oudolf’s Designing with Plants. Oudolf states, “A good planting should have enough variety of shape to look interesting in a black-and-white photograph looking at it again in colour should add another dimension, but a secondary one.” Whether I’m designing with a monochromatic color scheme or creating a garden with intense texture, plant form and structure will always comprise the backbone of the garden design.
I am available to tailor my services to match your needs: be it a one-time site consultation, a plant list to steer you in the right direction, or a complete landscape design package. I am also available to speak to garden clubs, neighborhood associations, and classrooms.View ProjectsCONTACT
